The breech Serial No 8058 and - beretta gardone. 1939 XVII - ( date of manufacture and the 17th year of mussolinis fascist era ). The action beautifully inlaid with gold and chiselled with flowers and vines. Walnut half stock the butt inlet with the Dukes letter - A - and laurel leaves surrounded with a coronet. The walnut canteen stock stamped 14 over 31 and with brass silver plated furniture, charcoal blued hook and thumb screw. The canteen stopper top with brass chain. The barrel with 50% blue. The breech with three gold lines and makers gold poincon. Foliage engraved tang with "V" notched screw elevated rearsight. Foliage engraved lock having gold poincon and fire blued "hold off" safety. Engraved dolphin hammer. Charcoal blued spur triggerguard engraved with foliage and terminating in a pineapple finial. Adjustable set trigger. Case hardened breech having two platinum lines and vented platinum plug. Signed back action lock engraved together with the Dolphin hammer and tang with best foliage. Engraved charcoal blued triggerguard with pineapple finial. Figured walnut fullstock with chequered "Fish Tail" grip, two oval silver escutcheons and stirrup ram rod. Some minor stock bruising, otherwise Very Crisp. Grade 2 plus retaining all original charcoal blue finish. Brl 4.5".

Lot No. 911 A FINE QUALITY 52 bore Percussion target pistol. Circa 1860 by Gunther & Cie of Paris. Signed fluted charcoal blued octagonal barrel with dovetailed foresight and cut with six groove rifling. The breech numbered 2 matching the sighted tang and together with the lock spur triggerguard and butt cap chiselled in low relief with foliage and flowers on a stippled back ground. Walnut halfstock and fluted grip and carved together with the forend with foliage. Near Grade 1. Brl 10.5".

The sliding safety triggerguard engraved with a flowerhead. Figured walnut stock with shell carved apron around tang. Hallmarked silver furniture by Charles Freeth includes a Stand-of-Arms side plate, a lion on battlements butt cap and baroque thumb piece escutcheon. Stained. Grade 3 plus. Brl.7 ins.

The boxlock action signed -Dawes London-. And engraved with banners . The left side with tap hook, the right with sliding pan cover. Throat hole cock with safety bolt locking the broad frizzen. Throat hole cock with safety locking the frizzen, raised pan, the frizzen spring with twin rollers. Concealed trigger. The walnut grip inlaid with silver vines and flower heads, engraved silver butt cap. Grade 3 plus. Brl.2.5 ins.
