Lot No. 682 A fine cased 64 bore percussion Pepperbox by James Wilkinson London. The fluted colour case hardened six shot barrel group secured by flower head engraved screw. The breech having raised lip with six wide "V" shaped location notches. Rounded German silver action signed - Wilkinson & Son London - and engraved with scroll foliage. The German silver grip strap also engraved and numbered -169-. Engraved colour case hardened bar hammer with screw hold-off safety and "V" shaped location peg behind the nose. Fire blued trigger and foliage engraved charcoal blued triggerguard.Varnished figured walnut grips. In its original mahogany case lined in green baize. The inside lid with James Wilkinson's trade label. Accessories include a fine Sykes three way powder flask, (most lacquer), correct nipple key, colour case hardened clearing/ramrod with three screw-on tips, one being a powder measure, Hawksley oil bottle and a William Davis 64 bore charcoal blued pincer ball mould with integral sprue cutter. The pistol Grade One with most original finish. Brls. 4".
