Chequered walnut grips. The magazine with aluminium base numbered -522-. Near Grade 1 with 95% original blue finish. Brl.10 cms. NB. The eagle/TP on the barrel identifies this as a Police rework of the post 1934/35 period, the Technische Politzeischule (Technical Police School) having changed its name then from Ploizei-Schule fur Technik und Verkehr (Police School for Engineering and Communications) used in the late 1920s/early 30s. The crown/N commercial proof is normal for police weapons, which were commercial contracts and so commercially proofed. The Schiwy sear safety also identities this as a Police gun. This probably started life as a DWM 7.65mm 98mm barrel gun made in the 1920s for the police, who were forbidden 9mm weapons under the Versailles Treaty, but when Germany started to ignore the Treaty ca.1928, these pistols were rebarrelled to 9mm by the PTV/TP who acted also as proof and inspection facility for the Prussian Police.
