Lot No. 5 The action stock and forend of a fine quality 12 bore back lock action shotgun by Charles Lancaster. Serial No:7765. The patent action and back locks signed and profusely engraved with scrolling foliage. Walnut butt stock with chequered straight hand wrist and patent forend. Some were to checkering action crisp. Grade 3. Well worth restoring. FAA Category:S1

Signed and engraved action, blued floorplate, triggerguard and top lever. Walnut straight hand stock with chequered wrist and anson forend. Near Grade 1 with most original finish. Lot No. 418 A pair of 12 bore double barrel side lock hand detachable ejector shotguns. Serial Nos:225823 & 225824. By Victor Sarasqueta. Each gun with narrow file cut rib. The breeches numbered 1 and 2 respectively with the top levers. The colour case hardened action and side locks engraved with flowers and foliage. Gold lined cocking indicators. Charcoal blued top levers and trigger guards. Walnut straight hand stocks with chequered wrists and anson forends. Very minor scratches to stock. Otherwise Grade 1 plus Retaining all original finish. The chopper lump barrels numbered one and two respectively concave rib signed Harrogate Gun company. The actions and detachable sidelocks engraved with foliage gold line cocking indicators and gold "safe". Walnut butt stocks with chequered straight hand wrists and anson forends. Grade 2 plus. The action strap marked -M.A. Lithgow S.M.L.E 111* 1945-. The bolt head -22 No.2-. The walnut fullstock marked -SLAZ 42- etc. The butt marked -No.2 MK1V*- and -4/47-. Lot No. 469 AN INTERESTING AND SCARCE 9mm Police Issue Luger self loading pistol. Serial No.522U (Matching). The chamber without date. The toggle having entwined -DWM- initials. Chequered walnut grips. The magazine with aluminium base numbered -522-. Near Grade 1 with 95% original blue finish. Brl.10 cms. NB. The eagle/TP on the barrel identifies this as a Police rework of the post 1934/35 period, the Technische Politzeischule (Technical Police School) having changed its name then from Ploizei-Schule fur Technik und Verkehr (Police School for Engineering and Communications) used in the late 1920s/early 30s. The crown/N commercial proof is normal for police weapons, which were commercial contracts and so commercially proofed. The Schiwy sear safety also identities this as a Police gun. This probably started life as a DWM 7.65mm 98mm barrel gun made in the 1920s for the police, who were forbidden 9mm weapons under the Versailles Treaty, but when Germany started to ignore the Treaty ca.1928, these pistols were rebarrelled to 9mm by the PTV/TP who acted also as proof and inspection facility for the Prussian Police. The action with cocking lever and safety catch and marked -3 Ch R 2 25-. (The Third Chevaulegers/Regiment). Walnut grips marked -GF 3679- and with lanyard ring. Grade 3. Brl.8 ins.

Lot No. 576 A VERY GOOD .577 Cal. Snider MKIII Patent Service rifle. Blued tapered barrel having correct sights. Colour case hardened action and lock. The latter marked -1869 Enfield- and with Crowned V.R. Cypher. Walnut fullstock impressed with Enfield cartouche and with three barrel bands. Brass furniture . The butt plate marked -19-4-. All parts having numerous ordnance marks. Some minor stock marks. Near Grade 2. Brl 36.5".

Lot No. 579 A GOOD 10mm Rimfire Amsler Patent Service Rifle. Round tapered barrel with correct sights. Hinge forward breech with cam locking/release lever. The lock marked -Beoret Freres Liege- walnut fullstock with correct iron furniture and original clearing rod. Grade 2 with some original colour. Brl.34 ins. This rifle is probably a Liege Contract for Switzerland.

The action with eagle over -Spandau- and dated -1856- and -1861-. Walnut fullstock with iron furniture and original clearing rod. Grade 3. Brl.77 cms.

Lot No. 581 A 50/70 Cal. US Springfield Trap Door Rifle. Round tapered barrel with correct sights. The breech dated 1866 with eagle head. The lock marked -US Springfield- and with eagle. Walnut fullstock with correct furniture and clearing rod. Minor stock marks. Near Grade 2. Brl.36.5 ins.

Lot No. 582 A 297/250 Cal. Martini Action Rook and Rabbit Rifle by W.R.Pape. Serial No.07090. (Pape Number 10002). Ovate barrel with engine turned top rib, tapered foresight and three leaf platinum lined rearsight and signed in a panel -W.R. Pape. 56 Westgate St. Newcastle On Tyne-. The action with safety lever and cocking indicator. Figured walnut buttstock with chequered wrist and forend. Nicely re-finished during its working life. Grade 2. Brl.26.5 ins.

Lot No. 651 A CASED .28 Cal. Colt Model 1855 Roots Percussion Revolver. Serial No.25860. Octagonal barrel having two line Hartford address within "Hand" finials. Fluted five shot cylinder with rearward arbour pin. The frame with side hammer and sheath trigger. Flared walnut grip. In its original mahogany case lined in maroon velvet. Accessories include as Eagle embossed flask with crossed pistols (Spring broken) correct brass bullet/ball mould stamped -Colts Patent- and cap tin. The barrel marked and stained. Near Grade 2 with 30% original blue finish. Brl.3.5 ins.

Lot No. 652 A SCARCE French 16mm Model 1777 Flintlock Service Musket. Round tapered barrel with lug for socket bayonet. The tang marked -M1777-. The lock having brass pan and marked - MRF. Royale De Versailles -. Throat hole cock and frizzen. Walnut fullstock having inspectors initials and -Fleur-D-Lys- within a circle, and unit markings on the left side. Regulation iron furniture, two swivels and iron ramrod. Even rust staining and pepper pitting. Grade 3 plus. Brl 40.25".

The back action Bar-In-Wood lock dated -1857- arctic birch fullstock having brass regulation furniture and original ramrod. Stock with crack at forend. Grade 3. Brl.37 ins.

Walnut three-quarter stock. The left side of butt marked with broad arrow. Brass furniture. Pepper pitting and dark patina to barrel. Grade 3 plus. Brl 16".

Pivoted rammer. Charcoal blued six shot cylinder with London proofs. Charcoal blued frame engraved with scroll foliage. Off-set dolphin hammer. Chequered walnut grip. Trigger missing. Grip broken, otherwise Grade 3 plus with some original finish. Brl.4.25 ins.

Lot No. 660 A VERY FINE CASED Gold Koftgari 54 bore Beaumont Adams Percussion Revolver by E.M.Reilly & Co. Gold plated dovetailed foresight. The top strap engraved -Reilly 502 New Oxford St. London-. The frame engraved -Adams Patent B6404 22133R- and with thumb screw arbour pin retainer and horizontal safety catch. Five shot cylinder with London proofs. The whole including the triggerguard and butt cap inlaid with best quality Koftgari foliage engraved flower heads and circles of vines. Chequered walnut grip. In its original oak case lined in green velvet. The inside lid with trade label of E.M.Reilly. The outside lid with hallmarked silver oval plaque engraved with presentation inscription (See illustration). Accessories include : A double cavity Adams 54 bore bullet mould with integral spru cutter, a turn screw and oil bottle, etc. The pistol Grade One Plus. Brl.5.75".

The breech having London proofs -E.B-. Poincons and numbered 3 and 4 respectively. Signed boxlock action. The right side engraved with trophies and having sliding pan cover lever. Foliage engraved tang, throat hole cock and wide frizzen. Flower engraved sliding triggerguard safety. Rounded figured walnut grip having silver butt cap and oval escutcheon. Some staining. The top flat engraved -John Wiggan Maker to The Royal Family & The Pacha of Egypt-. Foliage engraved breech having two platinum lines and vented plug. Signed foliage engraved lock, dolphin hammer and tang. Walnut halfstock with chequered wrist and forend. Foliage engraved triggerguard with pineapple finial and further silver finial. The lock dated -1859 and with Victoria Crown at the tail. The nipple with brass chain and protector. Walnut fullstock with iron furniture. The left side impressed -C.Playfair-. (The stocker).
