In it's original oak case lined in green baize, the inside lid with trade label of H. Dickinson London. Accessories include the six shot .442 Cal cylinder, Hawksley powder flask (spring broken), 54 Bore double cavity bullet mould, nipple key with cavity having two spare nipple and pricker, cap tins and oil bottle, etc. The pistol retaining about 40% original blue, some pepper pitting to mouth and strap. Lot No. 684 A RARE PAIR of 10 bore Irish Percussion Duelling Pistols converted from flintlock Circa 1795 by Obadiah Wisdon of Drogheda. The original brown massive octagonal wire twist barrels signed -Wisdon Drogheda-. Colour case hardened break-offs engraved with foliage. Each tang trophy and flash engraving. Signed locks nicely engraved with foliage and arrowhead border. Dolphin hammers (one replaced) figured walnut half stocks with chequered grips. Each having oval silver escutcheons engraved with entwined -W.M-. surmounted with a griffin. The spur triggerguards stylised pineapple finials and butt cap nicely engraved with trophies, flowers and foliage. Horn forend caps and ebony ram rods. In their original mahogany box lined in green baize. The oval brass lid with drop handle and engraved with the Coat of Arms matching the pistols and the powder flask. Accessories include, a Sykes Patent bag shaped powder flask with similar Coat of Arms, William Davis ball mould. The pistols with traces of original colour, one barrel having minor pepper pitting due to being separated from the case, consequently found and re-united years later by the vendor. Grade 3 Plus.
