Lot No. 685 A RARE A 12 bore Flintlock Baker Rifle Circa 1790 by Henry Nock. Round sighted barrel cut with correct rifling starting four inches from the muzzle for ease of loading. The "Knox" form breech having London Proofs and engraved -London No.10-. Round lock engraved -H.Nock-. Rounded cock and frizzen. Walnut fullstock with "Slit" forend for ramrod. Brass furniture. The triggerguard bow engraved -C- over -Y*C-. Grade 3. Brl.28 ins. The stock at lock and forend being restored due to fire damage. The unit engraving on the triggerguard is most probably to a Yorkshire Volunteer Company.
Lot No. 689 A VERY FINE QUALITY Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol Circa 1750 probably South German. The massive barrel of three stages with central moulding and long flared muzzle. The rounded lock having chiselled and floral engraved tail, The cock, pan and frizzen finely chiselled with foliage, The nut as a swirling expanded flower head. The figured walnut fullstock having carved mouldings and foliage and flowers around the tang, horn forend cap. The brass furniture chiselled with entwined foliage and flowers. Ramrod with horn tip. Mounted top-sprung bayonet with fireblued main spring and side catch spring. The angle flat engraved -London-. The tang with fireblued bayonet release. The signed bolted lock and dolphin hammer engraved with foliage. Figured walnut three quarter stock with finely chequered grip. Brass triggerguard with nicely engraved bow and pineapple finial. Rosewood ramrod with worm and brass cap. Some minor stock marks otherwise Very Crisp. Near Grade 1. Brl.6 ins.
