Walnut two thirds stock having chequered grip, brass butt plate, two swivels and charcoal blue triggerguard. The butt having B.S.A piled Arms - trade mark -. Grade 1 plus retaining most original finish. Brl 24'. Only a suggestion, it is highly probable this rifle was fitted with a scope in it's working life.

Blued tapered barrel with engine turned top flat drilled and tapped for scope bases, having dovetailed foresight and three leaf platinum lined rearsight. The angle flats engraved Holland and Holland 98 New Bond St. London. Winners of all the Field Rifle Trials Semi Smooth Bore. The colour case hardened action signed Holland and Holland within a ribband and engraved together with the charcoal blued top lever and triggerguard with best scrollm foliage. Gold safe, finely figured walnut butt stock with cheekpiece and chequered pistol grip, blued butt plate and engraved colour case hardened grip cap. The chequered forend with horn cap. In its original leather bound case lined in red baize. The inside lid having Holland and Holland 98 New Bond St London Winners of All The Field Trials Trade Label. Grade 1 plus. Brl.26 ins. Lot No. 603 A GOOD 15mm Austrian Wanzl Short Service Rifle. Serial No.11357. The octagonal barrel having rounded muzzle with foresight and socket bayonet lug. The curved rearsight with locking thumb screw and Austrian Eagle, hinge-up breech. The tang marked -LW-. The lock dated -860-(1860) and Eagle at the tail. Walnut fullstock and original clearing rod. The metalwork very crisp. The bore Grade 1. The stock bruised half way down the forend. Near Grade 2. Brl.25 ins. Wanzl short rifles or carbines were issued to the Artillary and some Cavalry units and are considerably more scarce than the full rifle even more so in this condition.

Lot No. 604 A VERY GOOD 16 bore/9.3x47R Hammer Drilling by -Helfricht & Fischer, Zella B/Gotha-. The browned wire twist barrels having signed rib, file cut at the muzzle with dovetailed foresight and file cut at the breech with slightly raised dovetailed rearsight and two gold lines. The action, back action locks and push forward underlever engraved with scroll foliage. Engraved hammers. The right one having pivoted nose for striking the lower firing pin. Lot No. 641 A FINE gilt bronze wheellock priming flask, Augsberg Circa 1580. The triangular body having curved sides and straight base engraved with geometric patterns. The front and rear faces cast and chiseled with classical warriors and rampant horses. Engraved tapering charger having spring lever cover. Each edge with cord suspension ring. Grade 2.

Lot No. 642 A FINE large gun size powder flask Circa 1840. Plain pear shaped body. The patent brass top engraved -Dixon & Sons Sheffield-. Fire blued spring - off. The charger graduated 5 to 7 drams. Some minor dents otherwise very crisp. Grade 2 plus. These large flasks were for wildfowling guns. Which were used and abused therefore seldom found in this condition. This one being for a 4 bore.

Lot No. 651 A 56 bore percussion Transitional revolver By Nixon of Newark. Octagonal barrel having signed top flat. Six shot cylinder with Birmingham proofs. The rounded action engraved with foliage. The bar hammer with sighting slot. Finely chequered walnut grips and engraved back strap and flat butt cap. Stained. Grade 3 plus. Brl 6'

Lot No. 653 A VERY GOOD QUALITY 30 bore percussion saw handle duelling pistol. Circa 1840. By Joseph Hollis. The acid etched octagonal barrel having German silver dovetailed foresight. The top flat engraved in old english -London- The break -off engraved with foliage and with two gold lines and platinum plug. Foliage engraved tang having circle notched rearsight with curved shoulders. The back action lock signed -Joseph Hollis- and engraved together with the dolphin hammer with foliage. Adjustable set trigger walnut halfstock with 'saw handle', chequered grip. The white metal furniture includes :- engraved spur triggerguard with pineapple final. Oval escutceon, forend cap and throat pipe Etc. Ram rod worn and butt cap band missing. Grade 3 plus, A sleeper. Brl 10.5'. NB. The barrel length and acid etching suggest this pistol was most probably made for the Irish market.

And with two German silver links at the breech. Signed converted lock with engraved border and trophies at the tail. Engraved hammer and triggerguard. Figured walnut fullstock and stirrup rammer (rod missing). Grade 3 plus. Brl 4.5'.

Lot No. 655 A VERY FINE QUALITY CASED PAIR of 38 bore Percussion Duelling Pistols Circa 1840 by Samual Nock 43 Regent Street London. The re-browned band and wire twist barrels having dovetailed foresights and signed on the top flats - Samual Nock London-. Each case hardened breech having vented platinum plug. Colour case hardened tangs with 'V' notched rearsights and engraved with best foliage and expanded flower heads. Each colour case hardened stepped and bolt back action locks signed -Samual Nock Inventt- and engraved with best foliage and flowers. Engraved colour case hardened dolphin hammers, retained by bunn nuts. Graceful figured walnut halftsocks with chequered grips and horn forend caps. Charcoal blued triggerguard beautifully engraved with mythical serpants ensueing from foliage. Globular pineapple finials. Original ramrods one with brass capped worm the other with powder measure cavity. In their original mahogany case lined in green baize. The inside lid with Samuel Nocks trade label. Accessories include a GOOD red leather covered three way powder flask by Dixon & Sons Sheffield, ball mould and turn screw. The pistols Grade 2 plus retaining most original finish. Brls.10 ins.

Colour case hardened bolted locks signed -Westley Richards- and engraved together with the dolphins hammers with foliage. Engraved charcoal blued triggerguard typically without finials.
